Susan Niebur (aka WhyMommy) is January’s Blogger of the Month
We are excited to announce that Susan Niebur, aka “WhyMommy”, is Bloganthropy’s January Blogger of the Month.
Susan Niebur is an astrophysicist, a mom, and a brilliant blogger. She also has cancer but cancer doesn’t have her. A four time survivor, she has used her voice to build a network and initiatives to help other people battling cancer. By raising awareness of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, an aggressive breast cancer that presents without a lump, and launching Mothers With Cancer, a gathering place and source of support, Susan has saved lives and inspired other bloggers to act. When Susan saw an email offering help to cancer patients like herself, she created an opportunity to supply hundreds of breast cancer patients with medically necessary lymphedema sleeves.
One of the people who nominated Susan explained why she is such a source of strength: “At a time when Susan has every right to pull in and just take care of herself and her family, she continues to think of the larger world, by informing us, advocating for cancer patients and survivors, and helping raise money for cancer patients who truly need it.”
As a token of the community’s gratitude to Susan for all she does, Equal Exchange is providing Susan with a gift basket. Susan has requested that the gift basket go to Judy, who blogs at “Just Enjoy Him“, with the message: “Thank you for writing your truth online and sharing your life with those of us following behind you. You’ve made Stage IV much less lonely and mysterious.”
